Calbayog City is huge covering a land area of 90,300 hectares and is the third largest city in the Philippines. Primary sources of livelihood are fishing, farming and forestry. Experiencing two seasons the wet and the dry it is known for the varied seasonal winds. The climate being evenly distributed throughout the year, typhoon and thunderstorms seldom affect the area.
The city has great natural attractions like the Guinogo-an Cave, a natural tunnel of water into a torch lit cave. Another famous spot is the Malopalo Stone Marble Mountain, housing several centuries old caves beneath the striking mountains. Other tourist attractions are the Mapaso Spring, Malajog Beach, Pan-as Falls, Bugtong Falls, Hibatang River and the Caybago Hanging Bridge.
