Centro Escolar University is a private, nonsectarian higher education institution with an enrollment of over 20,000 students in its three campuses in Manila, Makati and Malolos. Founded in 1907 it was set up as a national center of learning for Filipino women and is now one of the top universities in the country.
Centro Escolar University or Pamantasang Centro Escolar became a private university in 1933. The first college in Pharmacy was set up 1921, followed by College of Liberal Arts, Education and Dentistry and few years later the College of Optometry was established. The university offers programs in the arts, humanities, sciences, and allied medicine.
CEU also has dentistry and pharmacy programs. All of its academic programs are accredited and it is the first university given an ISO: 9001 certification. The University was granted full autonomy status by the Commission on Higher Education. The quality of its programs is attested to by recognition from several institutions.
The Graduate School organized in 1926 offers masters and doctorate programs in the fields of Education, Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Sciences, Philosophy, Pharmacy, Dental Education, and Public Administration. CEU is the only school in Philippines offering post-doctoral degree on Total Quality Management-Higher Education.
