The Manila Central University is a private, non-sectarian and non-stock educational institution situated in Caloocan City in Philippines. The University inaugurated its 10-hectare campus in 1949 to offer educational courses ranging from elementary to college levels.
The University since then constructed varied buildings and service facilities as also had on offer varied courses of studies that were added on. At the same time the University adopted development programs in line with current needs and trends.
The University has continually drawn up agendas to meet educational demands and the objectives. The Commission on Higher Education selected MCU among the universities and colleges deserving of the grant of autonomy and deregulated status due to academic excellence, outstanding overall performances of their graduates.
Autonomy entitles MCU to financial incentives and the privilege to prescribe curricular programs to achieve global competence. Expansion projects and development programs of the university keep it focused on desired tracks.
