Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) is a state funded multidisciplinary institution of higher learning serving areas in the Ilocos Norte province in northwestern part of Luzon Island in Philippines. The 300 hectare main campus of the University is located in Batac City that is an agricultural region affording an excellent environment for educational and rural development. The location can be conveniently accessed by surrounding towns that attract students.
Named in honor of Mariano Marcos, father of former President Ferdinand Marcos, the university has campuses in Batac, Currimao, Paoay and Dingras and Laoag City. It integrates college departments of Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trades in Laoag City and Ilocos Norte Agricultural College in Pasuquin to restructure, consolidate and expand the university's academic offering.
The university has nine academic units that include the Graduate School, College of Agriculture and Forestry, College of Aquatic Science and Applied Technology, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, Economics and Accountancy, College of Engineering, College of Health Sciences, College of Industrial Technology and College of Teacher Education.
