City of San Fernando is a class I component city in Pampanga province of Philippines. It is the capital city of Pampanga and the regional center of Central Luzon. The city is famous for its giant lanterns and is popularly referred to as the Christmas Capital of the Philippines, hosting the annual Giant Lantern Festival in December.

The University of the Assumption is a private Archdiocesan Catholic university located in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippines. It was founded on January 12, 1963 and is the first and only Catholic Archdiocesan University in the Philippines and in Asia.

The University of the Assumption has five academic colleges offering undergraduate, graduate and post graduate courses in several educational fields. The five colleges are - School of Technological Studies, School of Business, School of Arts and Sciences, College of Education and the College of Nursing. The University is also affiliated to a number of accredited national professional organizations in the country.
