The University of Manila is located in the heart of Sampaloc in Manila, Philippines in what is well known as the University Belt area. It was founded in 1913 by five young college students. The University of Manila, soon to complete 100 years of existence continues to provide education with a modern approach and technological inputs.
The university is a of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities, International Association of Universities and Association of Southeast Asian Institutes of Higher Learning. As it approaches its centennial in 2013, the authorities are preparing for the universities’ 100 years of total commitment to global education for a better world.
UM is heading towards rendering better educational opportunities through quality education. As it continues to grow so does the enrollment for its many colleges that include Law, Liberal Arts, Philosophy and Letters, Education and Business Administration. The Department of Graduate Studies, College of Engineering, Academy of Music and School of Foreign Service also cater to varied educational needs.
Subjects include Political Science, History, Elementary Education, Criminology and Penology, Secretarial Science and Public Administration as also some others like Police Science and Technology, Library Aide, Bookkeeping, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Tourism.
